Genre: Contemporary Romance
Welcome JM…I, LH have some questions for you 😉
LH: I wanted to be a ballerina, race car driver and a private detective when I was little. What did you want to be when you grew up?
JM: When I was little I actually wanted to be a homicide detective. Crazy I know.
LH: I didn’t really have a literary influence, I just decided one day to start writing. Who influenced you in your writing career?
JM: I don’t really have a literary influence I have always enjoyed writing but was not inspired to write my first novel until I got some really good advice from Author Jasinda Wilder
LH: I self published all of my books and was then “discovered” by a publisher. Are you an Indie or published author?
JM: Indie Author
LH: As an Indie Author, I was hesitant about being with a publishing company. If you are an Indie author, would you like to be published by a traditional publisher and if so, why or why not?
JM: I love being an Indie Author. The freedom to write and work my own handpicked team of editors, designers that I have developed a friendship with is amazing and really makes the whole process of being an Indie Author so much more enjoyable then going with a traditional publisher.
LH: This is easy for me…I’d invite Johnny Depp and I would not discuss movies! Who would you invite to dinner, living or dead, and what one topic would you NOT discuss with them?
JM: If I could invite one person to dinner it would have to be Betty White and I would NOT discuss movies or The Golden Girls with her.
LH: I personally think that there is way too much sex and violence everywhere in society these days and it’s everywhere but that Hollywood is one of the biggest contributors. Do you think that society as a whole is subjected to too much sex and violence and are you concerned about it? Ever feel conflicted and if so, why?
JM: I do feel that society is subjected to too much sex and violence. My only concern about it is how it is having an impact on the younger audience. As a mother of four I worry about some of the stuff that kids can see on TV and movies but I think as a parent it is our job to monitor such activities and teach our children to love themselves and have respect for themselves and one another.
LH: I’m a huge softy and by no means a beauty queen… lol but, I truly would want world peace in the blink of an eye if I could make it happen…If you could change one thing in the world, in the blink of an eye, what would it be?
JM: I would want to end world hunger. Not just in poor countries but all over the world, starting right here in the United States were so many adults and children go hungry every day when it can be so easily prevented .
LH: With the traditional bookstore becoming obsolete and everyone turning to buying books online, I don’t buy the hype that “the cover is everything”. How important do you think book covers are now that almost all shopping is done online?
JM: I do believe that a book cover is important but it does not make the book. The saying “Don’t just a book by its cover” sometimes is true. I have read several books with amazing book covers and I don’t really enjoy the story. But an amazing book cover and an amazing story are really great things to have and it gives the reader a little extra when both are combined.
LH: I can remember wanting to write as a kid. I got a really late start! Have you always wanted to write and when did you start?
JM: I have always loved to write. I can remember in middle school enjoying writing short stories in English class and loved it. I did not start writing books until about seven months ago and doing it as a full time love.
LH: I love to see if I can see myself in a character. What interests you most about a story?
JM: I love a story that is more than just sex. I like to see how the characters develop, feel their heartache and pain and feel like I am a part of them in some way.
LH: For me, I just get hit with this whole movie in my head and start writing. How do you come up with your stories?
JM: My process for developing the stories I write are actually just ideas that come into my head. I take an idea and go with it, sit down and just start bringing everything to life. Sometimes it works perfectly… other times the delete button becomes my best friend .
LH: I can’t tell you or I’d have to…lol Are you working on anything now?
JM: I am currently working on several projects. My next upcoming book Keeping You Forever is part of the Harbor Love series its 3 books in total. Keeping You Forever is due out October 25th and the other 2 books for this series will be out later in the year and early next year. Also I am working on a new standalone book called Bounded that will hopefully be out by December.
LH: I’m working on #6…5 are published and the other 3 are due out this year… How many books have you written? How many have been published?
JM: I have written 2 books, one is published (My Love At Last) and Keeping You Forever is due out October 25th but I still have the other 2 books of this series that I am still working on and writing.
LH: I write for fun I don’t even dream of riches…Do you write for fun or money?
JM: I write for fun.
LH: Some of my family members had a bit of a problem with me writing my first book “A Beautiful Liar” because the character Maggie West is basically me…to a point 😉 They had a problem with the genre and me “putting it all out there” so to speak so I took a pen name. They eventually came around as I have never cared who knows who I am what I’ve done or what they think of me. I’ve never wanted to be famous, just infamous! What has been your biggest problem when it comes to family or friends when writing?
JM: So far I have been extremely lucky and all of my family and friends have been nothing but supportive of my work and encourage me to continue writing.
LH: I have never experienced writers block…I have experienced writers “don’t want to”… Have you ever experienced writers block and if so, how did you overcome it?
JM: (Keeping my fingers crossed). I have never experienced writers block but I do have days that “don’t want to” come around and I just push myself to get through it and write the best possible story I can write.
LH: I get asked all the time “Do you have any advice for new writers?”… Do you?
JM: I do have advice for new writers and that would be to just write, keep writing and finish it. Spend the money on a good editor because you want to put the best work out for your readers and just follow your dreams. Anything is possible and if you love what you are doing and your readers love it that’s all that matters.
LH: I would not change one thing in my life as I would not be me if I did… If you could go back in time and change one thing in your life, what would it be?
JM: I love my life and the experiences and journeys I have been on and they make me who I am today. I would not change one thing in my life or go back in time.
LH: I would freak out if someone contacted me and said they wanted to make one of my books or my series of book into a movie as I am really very shy in person and I’d probably go into hiding. I don’t think I could handle it. How would you handle it? Who would be the first person you told?
JM: I think I would freak out. Jump up and down, probably cry and then tell my mom all about it.

LH: If you could go anywhere for a week, with anyone you wanted and no one would ever find out about it…where would you go, what would you do and who would you take
JM: If I could go anywhere for a week and with someone that no one would find out about I would take a special friend (not naming) and would go somewhere tropical and romantic. I would spend every second with that person and enjoy my time with them and of course have tons of little umbrella drinks with coconut and Bacardi!!!
