 Genre: Non Fiction

Welcome  SS….I, LH have some questions for you 😉

LH: I wanted to be a ballerina, race car driver and a private detective when I was little. What did you want to be when you grew up?

SS: I have always wanted to be a nurse, so I could take care of everyone and help make them better.

LH: I didn’t really have a literary influence, I just decided one day to start writing. Who influenced you in your writing career?

SS: I would have to say it was Author Genevieve Scholl, She has been there every step of the way through this journey. She was the one who told me I needed to write this book.

LH: I self published all of my books and was then “discovered” by a publisher. Are you an Indie or published author?

SS: I am an Indie

LH: As an Indie Author, I was hesitant about being with a publishing company. If you are an Indie author, would you like to be published by a traditional publisher and if so, why or why not?

SS: I really don’t know, I have not dealt with publisher before so I don’t know how it would be.

LH: This is easy for me…I’d invite Johnny Depp and I would not discuss movies!  Who would you invite to dinner, living or dead, and what one topic would you NOT discuss with them?

SS: Vin Diesel and we would not be talking much at all.

LH: I’m a huge softy and by no means a beauty queen… lol but, I truly would want world peace in the blink of an eye if I could make it happen…If you could change one thing in the world, in the blink of an eye, what would it be?

SS: I want all the hate and judging to go away. I think if people would love more and not be so judging the world would be a better place.

LH: With the traditional bookstore becoming obsolete and everyone turning to buying books online, I don’t buy the hype that “the cover is everything”. How important do you think book covers are now that almost all shopping is done online?

SS:  I do look at the covers first, if it catches my eye I usually read it. I also like paperbacks to read better then e-books.

LH: I can remember wanting to write as a kid. I got a really late start! Have you always wanted to write and when did you start?

SS:  I wrote in a journal when I was young but I never wanted to be a writer until now.

LH: I love to see if I can see myself in a character. What interests you most about a story?

SS:  It has to catch me from the beginning or I lose interest and won’t finish it. I love action, romance and paranormal.

LH: For me, I just get hit with this whole movie in my head and start writing. How do you come up with your stories?

SS: Mine are from my life experiences

LH: I can’t tell you or I’d have to…lol Are you working on anything now?

SS: Yes part two of my first book. It will be titled Aftermath Of An addiction. The cover reveal will be on March 7th, 2014 and it will be released in May 2014. I am also doing my first YA book called Spirit Riders which will be out this fall.

LH: I have 6 books out. How many books have you written? How many have been published?

SS:  I have one published and I am working on two now.

LH: I write for fun I don’t even dream of riches…Do you write for fun or money?

SS: I have a message I want to get out there to my readers. I am not in this to become rich or famous.

LH: I have never experienced writers block…I have experienced writers “don’t want to”… Have you ever experienced writers block and if so, how did you overcome it?

SS: I have and I had to stop writing for a while and then I would go back in a few days and it was back.

LH: I get asked all the time “Do you have any advice for new writers?”… Do you?

SS: I would say let nothing stop you, just keep writing.

LH: I would not change one thing in my life as I would not be me if I did… If you could go back in time and change one thing in your life, what would it be?

SS:  I would have to say that if I could change one thing it would be that my daughter never would have become an addict.

LH: If I could go back in time and tell someone something, I’d go back and tell the founding fathers they were doing a few things wrong…If you could go back in time and tell someone something, who would you tell and what would you tell them?

SS: I would have to say my father and I would tell him how much I love him because I never did and it was too late after he had past away.

LH: I would freak out if someone contacted me and said they wanted to make one of my books or my series of book into a movie as I am really very shy in person and I’d probably go into hiding. I don’t think I could handle it. How would you handle it? Who would be the first person you told?

SS:  I would tell my family and I would be shocked.

Thank you for that honest and real interview SS…Now… for the fun stuff!

SS:  I would have to say Ireland and I would take my niece Kathy with me and we would explore everything there. I have always wanted to go there because my family came from Ireland. Maybe find a Irish man to hang out with too.

Now if this isn’t…

Now if this isn’t a glowing review…I don’t know what is 😉

Title:  A Beautiful Liar
Author:  Leanna Harrow
Review Rating: Five Stars
Reviewer: Linda Hays-Gibbs
Genre: Erotica Contemporary/Heat level (HOT)

Hot! Hot! Burning Up!
Maggie West has an unhappy past with men.  They abused, molested, raped, lied and deserted her. The thing she found themost offensive though was lying. She had decided to give up on men forever.

However; she decided to try an online dating service.  It could be safe and she knew all men were liars anyway. She responded to this handsome blonde and got a response. She knew he had to be a beautiful liar because all men were liars. His response was very interesting and he asked for a webcam but he couldn’t show himself because his laptop was in the shop. She knew he was lying so she broke it off and swore to never speak to him again.
Later, she felt guilty and decided that she was unfair and everyone deserves a second chance. She told him she was sorry but he had to never tell her another lie. He agreed and he wasn’t a blonde but not a bad looking fellow.
Things progressed and before she knew it they were having all kinds of steamy sex all the time online.

She decided she was in love and had to meet him overseas and have some real time hands on physical steamy sex.Maggie tells her family she is going to have a vacation and leaves to continue her torrid affair.I will not tell you what happens but it is very different than you would expect. I suggest.. no…I totally recommend that you run don’t walk to buy this book. It has some serious issues it addresses and some very hot steamy physical bits. I found myself laughing at the way the heroine laughs at herself and her own personality.

It is a definite sexy jaunt.
I gave it Five Stars out of Five. Just a word of warning to the readers. Turn the AC up and put the fan on you  and get a large glass of ice tea before you settle down to read this book.
Sincerely,
Linda Hays-Gibbs

 Genre:  Paranormal Romance, Menage

Welcome BE ….I, LH have some questions for you 😉

LH: I wanted to be a ballerina, race car driver and a private detective when I was little. What did you want to be when you grew up?

BE: That is easy.  I wanted to be a cop.  I love investigating everything and figuring out who done it.  That is probably why I write about law enforcement in my books.  I like the mystery not knowing who did it or how they did it.

LH: I didn’t really have a literary influence, I just decided one day to start writing. Who influenced you in your writing career?

BE: Well I have always dreamed about being a writer and never had the nerve until I started reading Jana Leigh’s books.  I got to know her on Facebook and told her that I had always dreamed of writing.  She was so funny she said “Oh yea, well send me a little something.”  I thought what the hell do I have to loose.  I will never see this woman and she doesn’t live near me so I wrote a brief little bit about a woman who is a werewolf but also much, much more.  I sent it to her thinking I will never hear from this woman again.  Funny because she sent me a contract the next day and told me to finish the book.  I couldn’t believe it.  I sat down and wrote and wrote until I finally finished the book.  I sent it to her and that was my first book:  The Trinity: The Ashland Pack.  Who would have thunk it, but dreams do come true.

LH: I self published all of my books and was then “discovered” by a publisher. Are you an Indie or published author?

BE: Thank God I was a published author.  I so admire all of you who can do it all.  I wouldn’t know where to start.  I never would have followed my dream if Jana had not found me.  Really all of the Indie writers are such great writers too.  Even with a publisher it is still hard to get your book noticed.  So I applaud the authors who can do that.

LH: As an Indie Author, I was hesitant about being with a publishing company. If you are an Indie author, would you like to be published by a traditional publisher and if so, why or why not?

BE: Well thank goodness I didn’t have to do that.  Again I do applaud those Indie Authors.  The struggle of doing it all is beyond me.  You have to sell it, promote it, and live it everyday.

LH: This is easy for me…I’d invite Johnny Depp and I would not discuss movies!  Who would you invite to dinner, living or dead, and what one topic would you NOT discuss with them?

BE: Hard question since there are so many I could name, but I would ask my mother to talk to me again.  She has passed away and didn’t live to see this dream come true.  I would tell her all that I have done so far then ask what she thought.  I know my mother and she would have been thrilled and would have purchased all of my books.  The questions I would ask are endless.  So many unanswered questions of daily life and past questions of what she would have done or did.  My mom was the glue and the rock that held my family together.  She is truly missed everyday.

LH: I personally think that there is way too much sex and violence everywhere in society these days and it’s everywhere but that Hollywood is one of the biggest offenders. Do you think that society as a whole is subjected to too much sex and violence and are you concerned about it? Which form of media do you think is the worst offender?

BE: Well I guess I’m just as guilty as anyone since I do put all of those in my books.  I do ask you to be 18 years are older before you read my books, but we are our biggest problem.  We want to teach our kids to do the right thing but then we allow them to watch TV where people our murdered, raped, and beat everyday.  We try to watch what they watch but you can’t watch our children everyday.  We have to pray that we do enough to help turn them into good people and one day great parents.  I tell you, my kids love to play video games.  Lord have you ever watched them. I think they have to be the worst. I used to watch a lot of TV but now I read.  I never knew how much I loved it until now.  I can loose myself inside the characters and dream of worlds that hold the sex and violence but it feels different to me when I read about it.  It takes a lot of the sting out of it instead of watching it.  I hope that makes since.  But I do agree that we do watch too much TV instead of going outside playing with our kids.

LH: I’m a huge softie and by no means a beauty queen, but I truly would have world peace in the blink of an eye if I could. If you could change one thing in the world, in the blink of an eye, what would it be?

BE: Peace on earth where everyone believes in Jesus.  I really do believe that and pray for it everyday.  I pray for those that are lost will be found.  Now I’m very much a realist but I do pray for it.  I pray that there is hope out there for the people who can’t go on and need help but has no where to find it.

LH: With the traditional bookstore becoming obsolete and everyone turning to buying books online, I don’t buy the hype that “the cover is everything”.  How important do you think book covers are now that almost all shopping is done online?

BE: Well I do believe that the cover is what gets you to read the prolog.  I always look at the cover to get an understanding about what the book is about.  So only in opinion from a reader’s point of view, yes I do think the cover is an important part of the consumer buying your product.  I also believe if you are a successful writer and have already got a great following your name alone can get people to read your book.  I believe that is every author’s wish.

LH: I can remember wanting to write as a kid. I got a really late start! Have you always wanted to write and when did you start?

BE: Yes I have always wanted to write and I did write little things here and there when the mood struck me.  However, only later in life did that dream come true.  I know that this saying so funny, but it is true that dreams never die.

LH: I love to see if I can see myself in a character.  What interests you most about a story?

BE: I really have to say the romance of it gets me more then anything.  I’m a sucker for love and trying to get together with the characters. Maybe every woman’s fantasy.

LH: For me, I just get hit with this whole movie in my head and start writing. How do you come up with your stories?

BE: Ill be honest most of the time I’m in my car alone driving down the road and a certain song can come on and it is strange but a character and a plot forms in my head.  I’m a people watcher and I think about certain people and then think about them in real life or in a place with werewolves and vampires exist then I put the story into everyday life.  Just about anything can bring a story into my head.  In my real job I see a lot of heartache and bad people so even though I put those types of people in my books, they always come out on top.  I know that’s not real life, but that’s why it’s my story and in my book I can do anything.

LH: I can’t tell you or I’d have to…lol   Are you working on anything now?

BE: I’m always working on something.  At the moment I’m writing book 2 of the Trinity series.  Mace and Lexy: The Ashland Pack should be finished soon.  Then I will be writing #2 in the Once Forgotten Twice Loved series.  I love series if you haven’t noticed.  I have a strictly romance mystery book in my head and it keeps coming up when I’m in the shower or driving down the road so it looks like it wants it’s due and I think I need to give it to them.

LH: I’m working on #6…3 are published and the other 3 are due out this year. How many books have you written? How many have been published?

BE: I have written three books and published all three.  I co-authored my latest with Jana Leigh.  Lord the woman can write a mean bad guy.  I love Jana to death and she gave me my chance.  The name of that book is “Perfect Reflection.”

LH: I write for fun. Do you write for fun or money?

BE: Well I love it and I wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t fun for me.  Hey life is hard enough and I already have a stressful job so I do this for fun, but I do like the money too and I watch to see what is selling.  Lets be honest if it’s not selling then what is the use if nobody reads my stories.  So I would have to say I do this for both.

LH: I have never experienced it. I have experienced writers “don’t want to”… Have you ever experienced writers block and if so, how did you overcome it?

BE: Yes I have, but I read this book that helped me so much with writers block.  It is called “Tell Don’t Show” by James Lofquist.  The book was great for me and helped me so much.  I can’t recommend this book more even if it isn’t mine.  James is an author and teacher and came up with this technique.  So if you have problems with writers block then read this short book.  It is straight to the point without all the junk in between book.  I truly recommend it.  I wish I could get in touch with the name just to let him know how much he has helped my writing.

LH: I get asked all the time “Do you have any advise for new writers?”… Do you?

BE: Yes, and I quote the book “Pooh’s Grand Adventure, The search for Christopher Robin.”

“You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”  It stuck with me and I think it fits when giving advice to people no matter what you are trying to achieve in life.   You have to believe you can do it, and know that you are stronger than you think, and a lot smarter then you give yourself credit for.  So follow your dreams and when they try to knock you off, get back up and dust yourself off and keep trying.  Even when you get those bad reviews and you will trust me.  But if it is your dream then follow that advise and you should do just fine.

LH: I would not change one thing in my life as I would not be me if I did…If you could go back in time and change one thing in your life, what would it be?

BE: Well I wasted some of my life day dreaming saying tomorrow I will do that and never did, but it has lead me to this part in my life and I think I will keep it.  I’m happy and I love my husband and children so no I wouldn’t change it.  I did jump out of an airplane one time and I thought my life was ending, but hey that is another story.  LOL

Now…For the Fun Stuff 😉

Favorite Beverage?  Diet FREAKING COKE, THEY WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME.

Exercise or Bubble Bath?  Bubble bath

Favorite Color?  Blue

Sports or Chocolate?  Sports woman, what else is there.

Dogs or Cats?  Well I thought I would never have a cat now I have 2 but I do love dogs.  Cats I guess.

Favorite Food?  Mexican

Favorite Song?  Too many to name but I’m an eighties girl so I love all that type of music and country.

Favorite Movie?  Well you may laugh but every time the damn movie comes on I watch it.  “Jaws” but I love Pretty Woman too so what does that say about me.

Favorite Car?  SUV that has three seats and can carry my crew around.

Sex or Chocolate? (The answer “Both” is totally acceptable 😉

Hands down it is SEX.  I could go forever without eating chocolate but not sex.  Got to have it and I do love to write it.

If you could go anywhere for a week, with anyone you wanted and no one would ever find out about it…where would you go and who would you take?

BE: To a beach that has the clearest water and I would take my I pad and my husband. LOL

My Very First Tease!

Welcome! Pull up a seat and enjoy a chat with “Today’s Tease” James Hartley

Your Name or Pen Name you use: James Hartley

Title of the book you are promoting: Berlina’s Quest

Link to purchase your Book: http://www.eternalpress.biz/book.php?isbn=9781615729470

 Genre: Fantasy/Sword-and-Sorcery

Welcome JH….I, LH have some questions for you 😉

LH: I wanted to be a ballerina, race car driver and a private detective when I was little. What did you want to be when you grew up?

JH: My most realistic ambition was to be a scientist. At times, though, the idea of becoming a Space Cadet like my favorite TV show, “Tom Corbett,” snuck in there …

LH: I didn’t really have a literary influence, I just decided one day to start writing.      Who influenced you in your writing career?

JH: There were several, at the top of the list I would put Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, and E.E. “Doc” Smith. I didn’t get into Tolkien until much later. Of course, if you dig back into my early childhood, there was also L. Frank Baum.

LH: I self published all of my books and was then “discovered” by a publisher. Are you an Indie or published author?

JH: I am a published author. I never got into the self-pub business. A large part of that was financial; it costs up-front money to self pub. And it wasn’t too far back when self-publishing had the bad stigma of “vanity press” attached. If I were just starting now, I might do it differently.

LH: This is easy for me…I’d invite Johnny Depp and I would not discuss movies! Who would you invite to dinner, living or dead, and what one topic would you NOT discuss with them?

JH: I would invite Charles Dickens, and I would totally avoid talking about my least favorite of his books, “A Tale of Two Cities.”

LH: I personally think that there is way too much sex and violence everywhere in society these days and it’s everywhere but that Hollywood is one of the biggest offenders.  Do you think that society as a whole is subjected to too much sex and violence and are you concerned about it? Which form of media do you think is the worst offender?

JH: Too much violence, definitely too much violence, and I think TV is probably the worst offender. You don’t have to go to the movies, but that doggone TV set is sitting right in your home, turned on most of the time, and loaded with cop shows. You walk through the room, and before you know it catches your eye and you sit down to watch. Truthfully, I have much less problem with sex on the media.

LH: I’m a huge softie and by no means a beauty queen I truly would have world peace in the blink of an eye. If you could change one thing in the world, in the blink of an eye, what would it be?

JH: I would get the Space Program really going … we should have had colonies on the Moon and Mars decades ago.

LH: With the traditional bookstore becoming obsolete and everyone turning to buying books online, I don’t buy the hype that “the cover is everything”.  How important do you think book covers are now that almost all shopping is done online?

JH: The cover is still important, it’s the “eye-candy” that grabs you and makes you read the blurb. Maybe a little less so than at a bricks-and-mortar store, but still important.

LH: I can remember wanting to write as a kid. I got a really late start!   Have you always wanted to write and when did you start?

JH: At age eleven, I sent a story, typewritten single spaced on a single sheet of paper, to the leading science fiction magazine of the day. Rejected, of course. But I really regret giving up so easily and not getting serious about writing until many, many years later.

LH: For me, I just get hit with this whole movie in my head and start writing.  How do you come up with your stories? JH: It’s pretty much the same for me, something will trigger an idea. It can be as simple as hearing a song … I’ve done a number of short stories based on old Patti Page songs like “Tennessee Waltz” and “Change Partners,” and of course an entire novel from that old classic, “Teen Angel.”

LH: I can’t tell you or I’d have to…lol  Are you working on anything now?

JH: I have a sequel to a couple of my other books that I’m working on, but it doesn’t seem to be moving well. I just finished up my last work a few weeks back and sent it out on its first submission … a Space Opera titled “Beverly Bronte, Space Chick” … we’ll have to see how that goes.

LH: I’m working on #6…3 are published and the other 3 are due out this year.  How many books have you written? How many have been published?

JH: Depends on how you define “books.” I have my first book with Eternal Press, “Berlina’s Quest,” a novel. I have ten titles with another e-book publisher, a mix of novels, novella, and short stories. And I have a collection of short stories published. Would be more, but another publisher just went belly-up, orphaning two short story collections and another book. This can be a tough business.

LH: I write for fun. Do you write for fun or money?

JH: If it weren’t fun, I wouldn’t do it. I do like to get at least a little money out of it, and I avoid all those “pays exposure” markets, but I don’t think my writing is going to make me a millionaire. Still, you never know, look what happened to J.K. Rowling …

LH: I get asked all the time “Do you have any advice for new writers?”… Do you?

JH: My old favorite, obsolete now that everything is electronic, was “get some wallpaper glue and decorate your office with those rejection slips.” Persistence, persistence, persistence, persistence…

Well…you are quite a “character”! Now…let’s have some fun…shall we?

Favorite Beverage? Depending on the time of day, Pepsi or Merlot

Exercise or Bubble Bath? I never take bubble baths, and I get most of my exercise jumping to conclusions

Favorite Color? Sky blue pink

Sports or Chocolate? Chocolate, I am totally a chocoholic

Dogs or Cats? Cats, definitely, we have two, Socks and Ebony

Favorite Food? Sushi or Steak Tartare

Favorite Song? Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto … and it’s the ring tone on my cell phone!

Favorite Movie? Down Periscope with Kelsey Grammer

Favorite car? Characters in several of my stories drive Mazda Miata’s … you figure out what’s in my driveway.

Sex or Chocolate? (The answer “Both” is totally acceptable 😉 Yeah, I’ll go with both!

Now for the essay part of our interview!

If you could go anywhere for a week, with anyone you wanted and no one would ever find out about it…where would you go and who would you take?

JH: I would go to a nude beach resort. As to who I’d take, that’s a problem … I know my wife would never want to go there … but I’m sure there are lots of cute movie stars I could ask.

Thank you so much for spending time with us today and make sure to get your copy of “Berlina’s Quest” at http://www.eternalpress.biz/book.php?isbn=9781615729470
